All of it is stored on the device. We cannot see it, and it is not sent anywhere. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
AxleSet asks for camera or photo-library access only when you tap to attach a photo to a scale ticket. The photo is copied into the app's own storage on your phone. It is not uploaded, analysed or shared. You can use the whole app without ever granting either permission.
AxleSet asks for your location only when you open CAT scales near me, to sort the list by distance. The position is read once on the phone, used for that list, and not stored or sent anywhere. You can use that screen without location by searching a CAT number or truck stop name, and the rest of the app never asks. You still pick your state yourself.
When you scan a scale ticket, the numbers are read from the photo on your iPhone by Apple's built-in text recognition. The photo is not uploaded anywhere.
If you turn on Back up rigs and tickets to iCloud, AxleSet writes one file with your rigs and your tickets (weights, dates, places — not the photos) to your own iCloud Drive container for this app. It goes through Apple's iCloud under your Apple ID; we have no server and cannot see it. Turn it off any time; delete the app's data from iCloud Drive in Settings.
AxleSet makes no network requests of its own. The state limits, fine schedules and the CAT scale list are built into the app. Tapping a scale opens catscale.com or Maps in their own apps. The optional iCloud backup uses Apple's iCloud, nothing else.
Scale locations come from OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL) and link to catscale.com by scale number. Nothing about which scales you look at is recorded.
AxleSet is a one-time purchase handled entirely by the App Store. We never see your payment details. There are no in-app purchases and no subscriptions.
AxleSet is a tool for commercial drivers and is not directed at children. Since it collects nothing, it collects nothing from children either.
axleset.com is static pages served by GitHub Pages. We run no analytics, cookies or forms here. GitHub's own server logs are governed by GitHub's privacy statement.
